Illuminated Art, The Roman Forum

Also known by its Latin name, Forum Roman, these spectacular ruins once encompassed a bustling Roman marketplace and important government buildings. First developed in the 7th century BC, the Forum fell into ruin around 410 AD, after the fall of the Roman Empire. Today, the Forum is one of the most famous tourist sites in the world, attracting more than 4.5 million visitors annually.
